Rota/Shift Based Rounding

This rounding method can be used if you have setup the shift/rota for your employees for any given date in WorkDigital and you do not want system to consider time spent by employees before and after their scheduled start and end time.

When an employee ends their shift by clocking out on the tablet, the system will automatically apply this rounding based on their scheduled shift start time and shift end time for that particular day.

Consider an employee whose shift was scheduled from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Below is a list of scenarios that may happen and how the system will apply Rounding Automation:

Scenario 1 :

Attendance Tablet : Clock-In Early (08:46 AM) and Clock-Out Late (05:12 PM)

Use Shift Start Time and Shift End Time for attendance hours approval

  • Use 09:00 AM as the start time (rounding applied)

  • Use 05:00 PM as the end time (rounding applied)

  • Worktime is capped at 08:00 hours

Scenario 2 :

Attendance Tablet : Clock-In Late (09:10 AM) and Clock-Out Late (05:10 PM)

Use Clock-In Time and Shift End Time for attendance hours approval

  • Use 09:10 AM as the start time (no rounding applied)

  • Use 05:00 PM as the end time (rounding applied)

  • Worktime is 07:50

Scenario 3 :

Attendance Tablet : Clock-In Early (08:50 AM) and Clock-Out Early (04:50 PM)

Use Shift Start Time and Use Clock-Out Time for attendance hours approval

  • Use 09:00 AM as the start time (rounding applied)

  • Use 04:50 PM as the end time (no rounding applied)

  • Worktime is 07:50

Scenario 4 :

Attendance Tablet : Clock-In Late (09:10 AM) and Clock-Out Early (04:50 PM)

Use Clock-In Time and Use Clock-Out Time for attendance hours approval

  • Use 09:10 AM as the start time (no rounding applied)

  • Use 04:50 PM as the end time (no rounding applied)

  • Worktime is 07:40
