Working Patterns (Operational Hours)

Operational Hours app, also called Working Patterns, is used to indicate the normal working days and time of each employee. You can setup Operational Hours following below steps :

Step 1 : Create Operational Hours record

You can create Operational Hours in 2 ways:

  1. Generic Operational Hours - applicable for staff that works on same working pattern.

  2. Indiviual/Specific Employee Operational Hours

Go to "Operational Hours" app and click "Add New Record".

Provide a name for the operational hour (use an emmployee's name if creating for a specific employee) and select the working week repeat pattern e.g. 1 week, 2 weeks or 4 weeks and populate the start time, end time and break duration for each day when the employee works.

Step 2 : Assign Working Pattern to an Employee

Once you have added the Working Pattern record in the Operational Hours app, navigate to the Employee's profile record and click on "Edit" and then in the "Work" tab, select the newly the create "Operational Hours" record.

Importance of setting up Operational Hours

You must setup Operational Hours for each of your employee as these are used in following apps for important automations :

Auto Populate - Rota/Schedules

Working Pattern data is used in the Auto Populate function of the Rota app where WorkDigital can create 1 or more weeks rota automatically for you with just few clicks.

Time Off/Holidays Duration Calculation

When an employee creates a time-off/holiday request, WorkDigital will automatically determine the number of holiday duration that an employee has requested the holiday for based on their Working Pattern data.
