Fixed Allowance Policies

Fixed allowance policies grant a set amount of leave per period (typically annual). Best for salaried or consistent-schedule staff.

  • Full-time teams with standard weeks.
  • Part-time with predictable patterns.
  • Enhanced allowances for specific groups (e.g., HQ staff).
  1. Name it clearly (e.g., “Standard 28 Days”, “Standard 224 Hours”).
  2. Type: Fixed allowance.
  3. Amount + Unit: Set the total in days or hours.
  4. Save and assign to employees (new starters or via contract amendment).

Standard 224 Hours (≈30 days)

  • Unit: Hours, Amount: 224
  • For a 37.5-hour week: 224 ÷ 7.5h = ~30 days

Standard 28 Days (UK statutory)

  • Unit: Days, Amount: 28
  • For a 7.5-hour day: 28 × 7.5h = 210 hours

Head Office 33 Days (enhanced)

  • Unit: Days, Amount: 33
  • Often statutory + 5 discretionary days
  • Use hours when daily hours vary; more precise for part-time/variable patterns.
  • Use days for standard working days; easier to communicate.
